Biography
I, like most painters, have drawn from early childhood (painted murals, etc., for schools I attended).
I became professional in 1978 in British Columbia where I sold my work through galleries and travelling art shows. Several galleries in Saskatchewan (where I was born), British Columbia and Alberta, acted as my agents and some purchased my work. My work was also shown at the Calgary Stampede Western Art Show.
I have a Master's Certificate from Famous Artists Schools (founded by Norman Rockwell).
I enjoy painting portraits, western art, ruins, animals, etc., in most mediums (pastel, oil, pencil, pencil color, watercolor and pen and ink).
I paint ONLY because I enjoy it! (It is comforting when my art is purchased - it leaves me room to paint more!) Also, I do not strive to paint "photo-realistic" paintings, I want my art to look like a painting and hope that those who see or purchase same get the same pleasure viewing it as I did painting it!
I collect art books (and gallery books) by other artists. We seem to have so many artists who paint so beautifully - I really appreciate the talents displayed!
In May of this year I was invited to show my work in a London, England gallery, as well as a gallery in Budapest, Hungary. I was both delighted and felt honored by the invitations. Thank you. In August I was approached by the Chinese International Figure Painting Competition to submit a portraits).
This month I was approached by a gallery in Paris, France, also a gallery in Portugal.
"..., if we are to have great men working at all, or less men doing their best, the work will be imperfect, however beautiful. Of human work none but what is bad can be perfect, in its own way bad.
