Lynn Day

Biography

I attended Kwantlen College in BC graduating with an "Associate in Graphic and Visual Design" diploma. I have particiaped in a vaariety of seminars and workshops since graduation, and am a past member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), Vancouver. My work is in private collections in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada.

I quite enjoyed my time at Kwantlen College. I learned a lot and met a lot of good people. I discovered quickly that I could never be a successful commercial artist. I am just not pushy enough. You have to be totally sure in your own mind that you are the only one that can do that job for the client. Fine arts was more my area.
In fact, my art was how I met my husband. I was commissioned by his parents to do a painting for his birthday. He liked it so much he wanted to meet the artist. The rest, as they say, is history! As he was a serving member of the Canadian Armed forces we have been across Canada a couple of times. We spent 6 years in New Brunswick, 9 in Cold Lake, AB, and now reside in Carseland, AB.
I use a variety of media including pencil, pen & ink, watercolour, acrylic paint and oil paint. Which media I use depends mainly on the results I want to achieve.
